TRUEMET Avian Bioenergetics Model

General Information
DMP Section Type:
Data Input - Existing Collection
Description:
Amounts and timing of available habitats supported by water supplies projected under specified scenarios based on WEAP-CVwh were included in bioenergetics models (see Data Output Section) to translate scenario impacts on habitats into projected impacts on Central Valley wintering waterbirds through changes in their food supplies. TRUEMET is a avian bioenergetics model used by the Central Valley Joint Venture (CVJV) to evaluate the success of conservation planning in addressing potential future impacts (scenarios) on wintering waterbirds for each primary conservation area (i.e., CVJV hydrological basins). TRUEMET provides output comparing food energy supplies available under each scenario with food energy demands of goal waterbird populations on a biweekly time-step. This output is a deliverable in the Central Valley Waterbirds Bioenergetic and Conservation Planning Datasets (Data Output Section).
Processing & Workflow:
Provide projected area output produced from scenario model as input data for TRUEMET. Ducks Unlimited, Inc. conducts analysis using TRUEMET to provide scenario-specific bioenergetic supply/need results for CVJV basins.
