Climate Change: Confronting the Challenge

Protecting California’s unique array of species and ecosystems from the impacts of climate change will require coordinated and targeted efforts. The challenges posed by climate change that are detailed in this magazine provide a roadmap of areas where the Department of Fish and Game (Department) and our partners intend to focus actions in order to help maintain and restore naturally functioning ecosystems and protect California’s natural resources for their many public benefits.
