Basic Information

This sea level rise dataset provides predicted inundation location and depth for the San Francisco Bay area, the Sacramento-San Joaquin River Delta and California coast resulting during likely future storm events at different sea level rise scenarios. This research incorporates real, time series water level data from past (near 100 year) storm events to capture the dynamic effect of storm surges in modeling inundation using 3Di, a three dimensional hydrodynamic model along with high resolution earth surface models.
The San Francisco Bay and Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta are modeled at spatial resolutions ranging from 3m x 3m to 12m x 12m tiles. Due to the large extent of the California coast, coastal areas are modeled at a coarser resolution of 50m x 50m tiles and do not include surface object elevations.
